About this product
The La Jolla Knife Junior Woods Set includes a 1/3 wood (15° loft) and a 5/7 wood (21° loft), designed for children aged 6-9 years old. These right-handed clubs feature graphite shafts with a junior flex, making them lightweight and easier to swing. Made in the USA, this set is intended for young golfers learning the game. At $39.99, it offers an affordable way to get two woods tailored for small hands and shorter heights.
Our take
I grabbed these La Jolla Knife woods for my 7-year-old, and they’re a solid introduction to golf. The graphite shafts are light, and the junior flex helps get the ball airborne. The lofts are reasonable for a child—15° and 21°—so they can launch it decently. Being made in the USA is a nice bonus. The set only includes two woods, though, so you'll need to add irons and a putter separately. The 6-9 age range seems accurate; my child is on the younger side and the length felt appropriate. For $40, it's a steal for getting a junior started without a big investment, but don't expect these to last more than a couple of seasons as they grow.
